چکیده

The use of novel flocculants in combination with a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) for the treatment landfill leachate and municipal wastewater has been shown to be an effective method reducing polluted effluents. Co-treatment mixture was performed at 5%, 10%, 15% 20% SBR effluent treated by coagulation–flocculation. 6 d hydraulic retention time (HRT) 30 solids (SRT) removed 58 70% COD, 86 93% ammonia, 76 83% nitrate 69 95% phosphate. Coagulation–flocculation different dosages alum ferric chloride polyacrylamide grafted gum ghatti (GGI-g-PAM) as flocculant used chemical oxygen demand (COD), turbidity, total suspended (TSS) color removal. Maximum COD removal leachate, which 74% 2800 mg/L 77% 470 mg/L. Alum GGI-g-PAM 96% 82% turbidity 80% TSS, respectively. At combined coagulation–flocculation resulted 89% 98% TSS alum. 90% 86% nitrate, 94% TSS. Except both coagulants ratio phosphate level that met international standards discharges inland surface water. As such, new can help reduce water pollution from wastewater. In addition coagulation–flocculation, other physico–chemical processes also studied post-treatment options co-treatment mixture.

Landfill Leachate Toxicity Removal in Combined Treatment with Municipal Wastewater

Combined treatment of landfill leachate and municipal wastewater was performed in order to investigate the changes of leachate toxicity during biological treatment. Three laboratory A2O lab-scale reactors were operating under the same parameters (Q-8.5-10 L/d; HRT-1.4-1.6 d; MLSS 1.6-2.5 g/L) except for the influent characteristic and load. The influent of reactor I consisted of municipal waste...

Evaluation of sequencing batch reactor performance for petrochemical wastewater treatment

Sequencing batch reactor (SBR) technology has found many applications in industrial wastewater treatment in recent years. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal time for a cycle of the sequencing batch reactor (SBR) and evaluate the performance of a SBR for petrochemical wastewater treatment in that cycle time. The reactor was operated with a suspended biomass configuration under ae...

Optimisation of sanitary landfill leachate treatment in a sequencing batch reactor.

A bench-scale SBR was operated for almost three years in an attempt to optimise the treatment of leachates generated in old landfill. The results of the first two years were used to design a monitoring and control system based on artificial intelligence concepts. Nitrogen removal was optimized via the nitrite shortcut. Nitrification and N removal were usually higher than 98% and 90%, respective...

Municipal wastewater treatment by the bioaugmentation of Bacillus sp. K5 within a sequencing batch reactor

Artificial municipal wastewater was treated successfully by the bioaugmentation of Bacillus sp. K5 capable of simultaneous nitrification and denitrification (SND) within a sequencing batch reactor (SBR). During the long-term operation, the bioaugmentation system exhibited an excellent and steady COD and NH4+-N removal without nitrite and nitrate accumulation. The average removal efficiency for ...

Nitrogen removal via the nitrite pathway during wastewater co-treatment with ammonia-rich landfill leachates in a sequencing batch reactor

The biological treatment of ammonia-rich landfill leachates due to an inadequate C to N ratio requires expensive supplementation of carbon from an external carbon source. In an effort to reduce treatment costs, the objective of the study was to determine the feasibility of nitrogen removal via the nitrite pathway during landfill leachate co-treatment with municipal wastewater. Initially, the la...
